The South Korean government unveiled plans for an electronic system to authorise foreigners without a visa to enter the country in 2018.
On 1st September 2021, the Korea Electronic Travel Authorization K-ETA became necessary.
22 countries are temporarily exempt out of the 110 visa-free countries typically required to have K-ETA when entering South Korea between 1st April 2023 and 31st December 2024.
