DELF (Diplôme d'Etudes en Langue Française) are official degrees awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify the student's different levels of French. There are French certificates are made of 4 independent levels of the European common framework, which are the A1, A2, B1 and B2.

French exam DELF B2.

  • A student with B2 level in French has an independence that allows him to defend his opinion with arguments, negotiate and explain his point of view. The student at this level has fluency and spontaneity that allows him to correct his own mistakes.
  • The duration of the exam is 2 hours and 30 minutes.
  • The maximum score is 100
  • To pass, you must achieve a minimum of 50 points in total with a minimum of 5 points in each partial.

Parts of the DELF B2 French exam.

Part 1 DELF B2 Listen

  • Duration: 30 minutes.
  • Score: 25% of the total.
  • Parts: consists of 3 short recordings of maximum 8 minutes.

Part 2 DELF B2 Reading

  • Duration: 60 minutes.
  • Score: 25% of the total.
  • Parts: consists of the understanding of 2 documents, a text with information relating to France and an argumentative text.

Part 3 DELF B2 Writing

  • Duration: 60 minutes.
  • Score: 25% of the total.
  • Parts: is to write a personal point of view about a debate, formal letter, a movie or a book.

Part 4 DELF B2 Oral

  • Duration: Preparation for 20 minutes followed by 30 minutes.
  • Score: 25% of the total.
  • Parts: consists of defending an opinion based on a short document to provoke a reaction.
