Dorp Street House is centrally positioned in the CBD. It is a short walk to the well-known, fashionable Long Street, with restaurants, cafés, bars, and clubs.
The home has a warm, friendly atmosphere, and there is a cosy living area where students may relax, watch TV, or play board games.
Students have access to a fully equipped kitchen and a restaurant on-site.
The home is an excellent location from which to explore Cape Town at its finest.
The Company Gardens and the South African Museum are also nearby, as are many other tourist destinations such as Table Mountain and the V&A Waterfront.
The home has an old motif, and the decor in the common spaces will make everyone feel nostalgic!
There are a total of 15 beds. Each room has enough lighting and a study desk. Some rooms open onto a balcony where you can breathe fresh air or gaze out at Table Mountain.
Rooms and bed linen are replaced once a week.
Students have access to common restrooms, and each room has a tiny sink for a fast wash.
The home is thoroughly cleaned twice a week, including all common spaces.
Students are expected to maintain their individual places neat and tidy. Cleaning up after using the kitchen for cooking is extremely essential.
When students arrive, the house staff will take them to their rooms, give them keys, explain the house regulations, and show them how to go to the EC English school. Because the accommodation is just 1km away, walking is the most convenient method to get to school.
